Police are appealing for information after a man was attacked and robbed near Didcot Parkway Station.
The 44-year-old man was walking along Station Road when he was struck on the back of the head several times, before he fell unconscious to the ground.
The attack happened at about 6.45pm on Saturday, March 20, but details were only released today.
Det Con Stephen Knight said: “The victim is unsure how long he was unconscious for, but when he came round his wallet was on the ground, and £90 had been removed from it.
"He suffered a black eye and a fractured left arm, with extensive swelling and bruising.
“In the moments before the attack, he remembers hearing voices and footsteps behind him and he says he believes there were possibly six people involved wearing dark clothes and hooded tops.
"The victim was bleeding extensively, so it is possible his attackers’ clothes would have been bloodstained.
“This was a nasty attack and anyone who witnessed this incident or whose partner, son or friend came home that evening with blood on them should come forward.”
Anyone with information should contact Det Con Knight via the Thames Valley Police 24-hour enquiry line on 0845 8 505 505, or alternatively contact the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
