A PRE-SCHOOL has been rated outstanding by Ofsted inspectors.
Bampton Pre-School Playgroup, in Bowling Green Close, received the glowing report following an inspection earlier this month.
Ofsted inspector Fiona Robinson said: “The pre-school offers a bright, interesting, stimulating environment where children are keen to explore and play. Partnerships with parents, the host school and the community are outstanding.”
The pre-school, in the grounds of Bampton Primary School, is run by a 10-strong committee of parents. At its last inspection, it received a good rating, and before that satisfactory.
Committee chairman Alex Miller, whose three-year-old daughter, Erica, goes to the pre-school and whose son, William, six, has moved up to the primary school, said she was delighted with the inspector’s findings. She said: “Bampton is quite a big village but the staff really make an effort to make sure we really are a feature in the community.
“That means that if we ever need help fundraising, people are really keen to help.”
Mrs Miller added: “Last year we completely overhauled the garden, and that was at a really minimum cost. We didn’t need to pay any labour because all the parents came in and helped.”
The pre-school has an open day for prospective parents on Saturday, May 22, from 10am-2pm.
