One hundred and four drivers were caught using their mobile phones at the wheel on Oxfordshire’s roads during a week-long crackdown.
The organised checks were carried out across the Thames Valley last week.
The enforcement campaign aimed to reduce the number of drivers who ignore the dangers of using a mobile phone while driving.
Each driver was handed a £60 fine and three penalty points for the offence.
Two hundred people in Oxfordshire were also caught not wearing seatbelts, while four vehicles were seized for not having insurance or other licence offences and 41 vehicles were spotted with problems including bald tyres and tinted windows.
Pc Mark Pilling said: “It is disappointing to find that drivers continue to put themselves and others at risk for the sake of a phone call.
“We will continue to address the issue through enforcement and education.”
