A WOMEN’S wellbeing charity, set up last November, is going from strength to strength after receiving grants of more than £20,000 to secure its future.
Eve – which stands for every voice equal – was established by Anji Hall, following concerns over a perceived lack of support for women living at Heyford Park, near Bicester.
The idea behind the charity was to help women who felt isolated or believed they did not have the time, money or confidence to get involved in social activities.
So far 96 women have been helped by the charity through education, management crisis or counselling.
Mother-of-three Ms Hall, 49, puts on classes at Heyford Park Community Centre, ranging from cooking, sewing and knitting groups, to therapy sessions and exercise classes.
Among the organisations supporting Eve are Church and Community First, the National Lottery, Elsevier Printing, and Upper Heyford Parish Council, Oxfordshire Rural Community Council, and Oxfordshire County Council.
Ms Hall said: “Our plan is to continue to help and support women, to encourage others to come along and share their own experiences so that they can help other women.”
