OH REALLY Inspector Lewis! It’s about time you dealt with those people who are intent on wasting council taxpayers’ money.
Their latest crime was to install a bus lane near Kidlington, apparently to see how annoyed drivers would get, at a cost of £6,000.
Then, if that wasn’t enough, they agreed to spend another £3,000 six months later to have it removed.
You may laugh, Lewis, but the council taxpayers are a bit enraged at it all.
The leader of the gang is believed to be a bearded man who spends his time hanging around County Hall in Oxford. He goes by the name of Mitchell and, listen Lewis, if you see him, put him right about blaming the Labour Party for the recession. I have never heard such nonsense.
Finally Lewis, do your tie up when you pay Mr Mitchell a visit. There may be photographers present.
