When the old Rewley Road rail station was removed in 2000 there was a great opportunity to construct a gyratory system with no right turns.

Instead a complicated system was constructed which required 35 poles to mount all the traffic signals.

This has resulted in traffic queues at times back to St Giles.

At last the planners have realised their folly.

Unfortunately some of the space has been lost, but let us hope whatever they do does not require the present mass of traffic signals. Think of the saving in electricity!
