A 24-year-old East Oxford man has been remanded in custody after appearing in court charged with rape.
Yasin Mohamed, of Aston Street, appeared at Oxford Magistrates Court this morning charged with rape, kidnap, and robbery in connection with an incident in Oxford.
It follows an attack on a 19-year-old foreign student who was walking along St Clement's Street on Tuesday morning.
Mohamed, who was wearing a grey sweatshirt and blue tracksuit bottoms, spoke only to confirm his name. No bail application was made.
He is expected to appear at Oxford Crown Court next Friday, March 26.
