Nicky Edmondson is proud to be the first female headteacher of The Henry Box School in Witney in its 350 year history.
The successful and popular 11-18 comprehensive school was founded in 1660 by local man Henry Box and this year celebrates its 350th anniversary.
The Henry Box School provides a high quality education for its students reflecting its aim of ‘Building on Tradition, Educating for the Future’.
Every year many students leave the outstanding sixth form to take up places at top universities. The school has been a specialist language college since 2001 and a high performing specialist school for science and mathematics since 2006.
One of the very special features of the school as observed by the last Ofsted inspection report is the sense of community ethos and the pride students feel for their school. Students are encouraged to get involved in a wide range of enrichment activities including the Duke of Edinburgh Award and links with our partner school in Rwanda.
Nicky said,“We are fortunate to have the beautiful original buildings at the heart of our school site and proud of our history. The school has an exciting future ahead and we are committed to providing the highest quality education for every student to prepare them for successful and happy lives in the 21st Century”.
