Sir – I have read with interest letters published in The Oxford Times recently regarding transport to the major airports from Witney being very difficult.
I thought that readers should be made aware of a brilliant shuttle bus that is now running a direct daily service from Witney to Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton and Stansted.
My husband and I recently used it when travelling to see our son in Australia and we would highly recommend it.
It starts very conveniently outside St Mary’s Church, Church Green but we paid a little extra to be collected from our home which was great as we are both in our 80s.
The driver was extremely friendly and very helpful with all our bags and even located a trolley for us at the airport.
The Heathrow ticket is £40 per person for a period return. There are five services to and from Heathrow daily.
They do have a website with all the relevant details at www.witneyshuttle.com and I think they also have timetables at the WODC town centre shop or their telephone number is 0800 043 46 33. We will certainly be using them again when we travel to Gatwick in May.
Ann Harrison, Witney
