Twenty-five firefighters were called to a house in Wantage last night after a blaze broke out in the roof space.
The fire started in the roof of the single-storey extension at the house in Charlton Road at 7.20pm.
A spokesman for Oxfordshire Fire Service said no one was hurt in the incident and no one needed to be rescued from the house.
Fire crews stayed at the home until the early hours of this morning to make sure the fire was out.
The spokesman added that the cause of the blaze was accidental, but could not say how the fire is thought to have started.
