Police are appealing for witnesses after a series of burglaries in Cumnor.

Burglars forced their way into a house in The Park and two properties in The Glebe.

At the property in The Park, they stole cash and at the other two addresses they stole cash and jewellery.

The burglars also attempted to break into another property in The Park, but did not manage to gain entry to the property.

The burglaries happened between 7pm and 8.30pm last Wednesday, but details were only released today.

PC Paul Reece said: “As many larger items have been ignored by the burglars, we believe they may be travelling to and from the properties on foot or bike.

“I would urge anyone who has seen anything suspicious in the area to come forward and speak to me as soon as possible. I would also remind people to be vigilant to anyone acting suspiciously in their neighbourhoods.

“If you are ever unsure of something then please do not hesitate to call police on the 0845 8 505 505 non-emergency number and tell us.”

“I would also like to hear from anyone who may be offered things for sale by strangers.”

Anyone with information should contact PC Reece via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police Enquiry Line on 0845 8 505 505, or alternatively contact the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
