Comedian Jimmy Cricket will kick-start ten days of fun in Bicester organised by the town’s churches.
The veteran comic will appear at St Edburg’s Church on Friday, for An Audience With Jimmy Cricket to launch ‘Love Bicester’. A rock band, former England fullback Jonathan Webb and children’s entertainers are among more than 30 events lined up.
The initiative is an inter-church festival including Catholics, Anglicans, Methodists, the Salvation Army and non-denominational churches, aimed at giving something back to the town.
The Rev Chris Boyce, vicar at Emmanuel Church, said: “After the success of our annual fun day, we wanted to do something more for Bicester.
“Churches across the town jumped at the chance of getting involved. Whether you like pub quizzes, films, cars, rugby, live music or Caribbean food, music and limbo dancing, there really is something for everyone.”
