David Cameron and his wife Samantha have given a revealing glimpse into their personal life as the General Election campaign intensifies.
In an interview for tonight’s Trevor McDonald Meets David Cameron, on ITV1, the Witney MP and Tory leader said he considered giving up politics after the death of his disabled son Ivan last year.
He also insisted he would be ruthless enough to sack his “good friend”, shadow chancellor George Osborne, and admitted Labour’s efforts to mock his image have been effective.
Meanwhile, Mrs Cameron praised her husband’s strength and kindness – but said he had “very irritating habits” such as being messy at home.
