DANCERS made a song and dance to help sick Oxfordshire children.
About 40 women joined a two-hour sponsored Zumbathon at Kidlington Sports Centre yesterday.
The Zumba is a high-energy get-fit dance which combines Salsa, Cha-cha, Calypso, Flamenco and Bollywood styles.
The fundraisers collected more than £400 for the Oxford’s Childrens’ Hospital.
Vicky Hahn led the dances alongside fellow instructors George Martini and Rebekah Robertshaw between 1.30pm and 3.30pm.
Mrs Hahn, of North Leigh, near Witney, said: “Most people managed to get through the whole two hours.
“There was high energy and lots of screaming and shouting, but that is what it’s all about – it’s like a carnival.”
People can also raise cash for the hospital at this year’s OX5 Run, backed by the Oxford Mail, at Blenheim Palace, on April 18.
l Mums laced up their walking boots on the Ridgeway yesterday to raise money for Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centre’s first ‘Love Maggie’s Day’. The Mothers’ Day event featured a sponsored 12-mile walk from Watlington to Wallingford.
