A CELEBRATION of the creativity of women was held at Bullingdon Community Centre to mark Oxford International Women’s Festival.

About 160 women and young children enjoyed a day of free fun and creativity on Wednesday with attractions such as face-painting and food from around the world.

The centre is used by people from about 50 different nations.

Women brought in food from different cultures, from haggis to Lithuanian cuisine.

The event was staged by the community centre and the Slade and Headington Children’s Centre.

Committee member Ms Bryant said: “The creativity of women is often not acknowledged, so we wanted to do that.

“The atmosphere was excellent, it was really buzzy and it was a very successful event."

The festival ended tonight.
