Summertown were forced onto the back foot when it became clear that they would have to play with 9 men, and Wantage exploited this with early goals from Aiden Collins and Luke Ulyatt. But Summertown raised their game and after threatening the Wantage goal they pulled one back through Charlie Rundle. Wantage restored a two goal cushion through Marcus Rutter and further strikes from Josh Giles (2), Harry Boulter and Kieran Lambourn made it 7-1 to Wantage at half time.
In the second half Summertown defended valiantly and remained a threat on the break, restricting Wantage largely to shots from distance. But Sean Cooper scored the Wantage eighth and Danny Grover and Luke Ulyatt completed the scoring. To their enormous credit Summertown heads never dropped and towards the end of the match they created a number of chances but couldn't find the finish.
