This was a top of the table clash with winners of the game having one hand on the C League title.
Abingdon started the better and kept Kidlington on the back foot and were unlucky not to go one up but Kidlingtons keeper held firm and stopped Abingdon from scoring.
Kidlington then picked up the pace and with Alex Brian holding up the ball well, they soon started to trouble the Abingdon defence. After one free kick from the right Abingdon were at sixes and sevens and eventually Abingdon cleared when it looked easier for Kidlington to score.
From the clearence Abingdon raced down the right and with the goal begging James Pearce-Shaw shot straight at the keeper. Half-time ended 0-0
Second half and it was an edgy start for both teams, Abingdon duo of Dustin Addison and George Woodley started to put a bit fire in the midfield. After some long throws from George Woodley Abingdon scored with Max Shepherd scoring from a tight angle.
With 10 minutes to go Kidlington pushed more up front with the title at stake and were putting Abingdon under a lot of pressure. After a flowing move on the right Kidlington were denied an equaliser when Bradley Cox cleared from under his bar with the Kidlington striker bearing down on him.
Full-time and Abingdon winning one nil but were pushed to the end from a good and well organized Kidlington side.
Thanks to the ref who had a good game and both teams for putting on a good display for the parents.
