Businessmen and women donned their wellies to do their bit for the environment at a tree planting event.
The launch of Witney-based company The Breathing Planet’s campaign to plant more than 200,000 trees by the end of the year started today.
More than 50 people from local businesses turned out for the event.
They planted almost 50 trees in fields at North Farm Mews, Stonesfield.
Afterwards the group enjoyed a bacon or sausage sandwich and the chance to network.
Nick Thomas, who runs the company with business partner Nick Breare, said: “It was really successful, a great morning.
“The idea of the event was to launch our campaign for 2010 and to launch our company The Breathing Planet.”
The company helps organisations to make the world a greener place.
Mr Thomas said: “We try to engage small businesses in the UK in issues about climate change. What we try to do is get them to think about what they can do to reduce their carbon footprint. They can plant a tree to off-set their carbon footprint and we try to make it as local as possible.”
