A 35-YEAR-OLD man was in custody last night after a police raid in Oxford discovered a room filled with cannabis plants.
Police raided a house in Garsington Road, Cowley, shortly before 8am yesterday and arrested the man on suspicion of illegally cultivating cannabis Police officers, including Pc Anthony Kirby, left, and Sgt Paul Sexton, right, found a large hydroponic system to grow the plants in the living room and about 30 mature cannabis plants.
Sgt Paul Sexton, of Cowley police, said: “The neighbourhood team executed a drugs warrant after receiving information from members of the public. We would encourage anyone with information on drugs and supply of drugs to contact their neighbourhood team.”
The street value of the drugs was unknown. The plants were taken away to be destroyed.
