Police are appealing for witnesses after a 16-year-old girl was assaulted in a park in Carterton.
The girl was with friends at the park in Alvescot Road shortly before midnight on Saturday, when she got into a disagreement with another girl.
The victim alleges that an argument ensued and she was assaulted by the other girl, who hit her around the head with a bottle.
PC Lisa Chapman said: “I would like to speak with anyone who may have been present when this fight broke out.
“We believe there was a group of between 15 and 20 people at the park when this incident happened, and I am sure that one of these people must have seen what happened.”
A 16-year-old girl has been arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm and bailed until April 26 in connection with the incident.
Anyone with information should contact PC Lisa Chapman via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police Enquiry Line on 0845 8 505 505, or alternatively contact the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
