A man who was in intensive care after he was found on a stairwell in Banbury on Sunday has died.
The 25-year-old man, who was admitted to the Horton General Hospital after sustaining serious head injuries, was pronounced dead today.
At about 11.10pm, officers were called to Ruscote Arcade Shops in Longelandes Way following reports that a man had been found injured on the stairs that lead down from a balcony which gives access to the flats.
Det Chief Insp Joe Kidman, from Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Unit, said: “We are continuing with our investigation into how this man sustained his injuries. We know he had earlier been in one of the flats above the arcade.
“Were you in the Ruscote area of Banbury late on Sunday evening?
“If you think you have information that could assist our enquiries then I urge you to contact police immediately.”

A 24-year-old man, who was arrested in connection with the incident on Sunday, remains in police custody. An extension has been granted by magistrates which will expire shortly before midnight.
