WINSTON Churchill, former Conservative MP and grandson of the wartime Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill, was interred in the family plot at St Martin’s Church in Bladon, near Woodstock, on Tuesday, after a two-year battle with cancer.
Mr Churchill’s father was Randolph Churchill, another Tory MP and the son of Sir Winston, who is also buried at Bladon.
Unlike his grandfather, the Eton-educated politician never achieved such high office, but he was an outspoken backbench MP for Manchester between 1970 and 1997. He also served as shadow defence spokesman in the 1970s.
