I was very saddened to hear of the passing of Michael Foot. He was a decent and honourable man who’ll be very much missed.

I remember him campaigning in Abingdon during the 1992 General Election, and being impressed by his passion and energy. He was so far removed from the spin and altered images of the likes of messrs Blair and Cameron.

Although ridiculed by some sections of the Press I’m sure that if more of today’s politicans had his honesty and integrity, the Houses of Parliament wouldn’t be engulfed in greed and scandal.
