THIS would-be robber armed with a crowbar demanded cash after bursting into an Oxford newsagent’s shop.
Wearing a black hooded top with just his eyes showing, he entered Martins, in Balfour Road, Blackbird Leys, on Saturday afternoon but fled empty-handed when the cashier called for help.
The masked raider and an accomplice went into the shop at about 2pm.
The other man was wearing a dark blue jumper with white dots and light-coloured jeans.
Srijana Shresdhe, 22, who works in the nearby Best One convenience store, said: “Two boys came in and said there was a robbery. Maybe he will come here next. I’m very worried.”
Det Insp Simon Morton said: “This was a very frightening incident for the staff in the shop and we’re keen to apprehend these offenders as soon as possible.
“I would urge anyone who has information about this matter to come forward.”
Anyone with information should call Oxford CID on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
