Kidlington secured their place in the U-10 final with a 5-0 win against Goring Robins at Abingdon Town.
Kidlington made a perfect start when taking the lead after only 2 Mins when Ryan Hughes scored from close range. Goring responded well and created two good chances to equalise with both efforts being just off target.Kidlington created several chances to double their lead and eventually scored when Ciaran Murphy finished after some good work by Dylan Oakes and Harry Woodhams.
The second Half was pretty even with both keepers, Alex Smith of Goring and Will Spackman of Kidlington making some fine saves.Kidlington stretched their lead when Ciaran Murphy stuck a superb shot from a narrow angle. Kidlington had to be alert defensively as Goring always looked dangerous on the break.Matthew Comley and Tom Keppie were solid defensively for Kidlington and gave the Goring Forwards little time to settle on the Ball.Kidlington added a fourth goal after some great build up play from Will Newcombe who created the opportunity for his brother Sam Newcombe to score. Kidlington Completed the scoring with five mins remaining when Conor Allsop made a great run From midfield beating two defenders before unleashing a terrific shot which was brilliantly blocked by the Goring Keeper Alex Smith, but Conor Allsop was first to react to the loose ball to fire home.
This was a very entertaining game of football, played in a sporting manner by both teams and credit also goes to the Referee who was excellent.
