Right from the kick off you could tell this was going to be a good game! Both teams started strong with Scott Webb and Leroy Brandao forcing some outstanding saves from Joe Wright in the Headington Sharks goal. At the other end Conner Madden tested Danny Wilkins but to no avail. The game swung back and forth with Jordan Pierce and James Ormrod working well in the Ardington defense. The stcore stayed at 0-0 up until five minutes to go in the first half when Jaden Wilkins sent a good ball to Leroy Brandao who rounded two defenders and tucked the ball nicely into the back of the net.
In the second half, Ardington stepped up their game making some very good chances and if not for Joe Wright who was superb in the Headington goal, Ardington would have had 4 or 5 more goals! With the time ticking it looked as if the score would stay at 1-0 but with 1 not being enough for Ardington, Michael Moss collected the ball from the half way line, spotted Leroy Brandao out wide and laid the ball to his feet for him to set up Scott Webb nicely to finish in the top left and corner making it 2-0 to Ardington.
