THIS is pervert Carl Forrester, reclining semi-naked on a bed wearing a girl’s headband minutes after he kissed a 13-year-old.
The 56-year-old grandfather was also snapped kissing his victim on the lips during a party he held at his home in Canning Crescent, South Oxford.
This week, the photographs were shown to jurors during a four-day trial at Oxford Crown Court.
Forrester was found guilty of sexual activity with a child in 2007, and making (downloading) 339 indecent images of children between September 2005 and July 2007.
Eighteen of the downloaded photographs, which were found on two computers at the unemployed former builder’s home, were rated at level four by police. Level five is the most serious.
After the verdict on Thursday, one of Forrester’s grown-up daughters said: “It’s an absolutely fantastic result. He is totally guilty.
“Me and my sister are ashamed of what he’s done and we would like the thank the young girls who came forward.
“If it wasn’t for their courage there wouldn’t be a conviction.
“It has had a ripple effect on the whole family. It was a very selfish crime.”
His ex-wife said: “This is a step forward. It’s been a long time coming.
“Who knows what the girls in these photographs went through?
“This is for all those people too frightened to come forward because they fear they might not be believed.”
Outside court, Det Con Debra North said: “I am pleased with the verdict.
“It is testament to the bravery of witnesses who supported the police investigation since it started in July 2007.
“Paedophilia in its various guises is a horrific crime for which no sentence will truly represent the innocence lost of the countless children, both identified and unidentified, who suffer through it. Their experiences at the hands of these paedophiles often cause them to live with the recurring flashbacks of abuse for their entire lives.”
Forrester claimed the kiss was an innocent one good night and he thought the victim was over 16.
Forrester, who denied all charges, was cleared of four other counts of taking indecent photographs of a child and one of making indecent photographs of a child, and was bailed to be sentenced on April 9. He was put on the sex offenders’ register.
Recorder Peter Kyte told him: “You have been convicted of the two most serious matters of this indictment.
“Count one (sexual activity with a child) carries a maximum sentence of 14 years. I’m not saying for one moment I’m going to contemplate a sentence like that, but I make absolutely no promises — you may very well get custody.”
