Oxfam is holding an Ethical Trade Workshop on March 30.
The aims are: • To give participants an understanding of key labour issues in global supply chains based on Oxfam’s analysis, and the benefits to business of addressing them.
• To use tools and case studies from Oxfam’s experience, go through ways to assess ethical risks and engage suppliers.
• To help participants consider how these could be applied in their own product or service supply chains.
The training will apply to buyers and sustainability managers especially in small and medium sized companies along with purchasers in public sector organisations and charities.
The workshop will be delivered by Rachel Wilshaw, ethical trade manager and Alex Cole-Hamilton, ethical purchasing manager.
Also speaking will be Simon Henzell-Thomas, head of sustainability for The Body Shop, who will be sharing 20 years of experience in sourcing ethically.
The workshop will take place in Oxfam's Global Centre, John Smith Drive, Business Park South, Cowley, Oxford, OX4 2JY from 10am-5pm.
The event costs £250 + VAT or £150 + VAT for not-for-profit organisations, payable in advance.
After the workshop, there will be an informal networking session with Oxfam staff from 5-6pm, with refreshments.
