Police this evening issued a picture of a man they want to interview about a series of fraud offences across Oxfordshire and Berkshire.

Paul Lawrence, 29, was arrested in July 14, 2009, in Oxford with a 26-year-old woman on suspicion of fraud after attempting to pay for goods and services by cheque.

Police said Lawrence and the woman were bailed and subsequent investigations identified further offences that officers suspect he has committed in the Thames Valley region.

Lawrence failed to answer his bail and is wanted by Thames Valley Police in connection with these offences.

Two weeks ago Lawrence was tracked to Drayton, near Abingdon, where he is alleged to have defrauded a farmer. He has since moved on and is believed to be frequently on the move.

Lawrence is white, 5ft 9in tall, with blue eyes and short, black hair. He is thought to be using a small caravan and may be in the company of a young white woman.

Det Con Jon Shaw said: “We suspect that Lawrence may be responsible for defrauding businesses of more than £8,000 of good and services.

“He is also known to use the surnames Savage, Jessop and Miller.

“We are urging anyone who may know of the whereabouts of this man to come forward and speak with us.
