Police are appealing for witnesses after a burglary in Oxford last night where the occupant disturbed the burglar.
At about 8pm, a 22-year-old man who lives at the property in Dene Road, woke to find a man in his room.
The man was white, in is forties, slightly overweight, about 5ft 8in tall, with short, grey hair. He was wearing a light grey hooded top.
Det Con Rick Josey said: “We believe the man forced a rear patio door open to gain access to the property, where he has stolen 40 Euros.
“We have also discovered a pitchfork in the garden, which doesn’t belong to any of the residents.
“We believe that this burglary may be connected to a series of burglaries in Wood Farm at the end of last year.
“I would urge anyone who may have seen anything, or who has any information, to contact police as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information should contact Det Con Josey via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police Enquiry Line on 0845 8 505 505, or alternatively contact the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
