THE figures showing the pensions blackhole for Oxfordshire’s councils is a scary £784m, according to the TaxPayers Alliance.
The county council’s has swelled by almost £200m alone in three years and it is realistic to question if this will come back to hit taxpayers in the pocket.
The councils say they are confident their pension pots will return to the black in coming years. We hope they are right, because it will be the public left footing the bill if they are being over-optimistic.
