A TELEVISION chef shared some kitchen secrets with an enthusiastic audience of children at a special event at Wheatley Pre-School yesterday.
Alex Mackay — a familiar face on BBC2’s Ready Steady Cook who has also appeared on ITV’s This Morning and Too Many Cooks — visited the pre-school today as part of its Let’s Cook week.
Mr Mackay, who lives in Oxfordshire, made pasta, pizza, tomato sauce and tropical fruit salad with the 20 children at the pre-school — an audience which included his four-year-old son Jake.
The chef, who used to run chef Raymond Blanc’s cookery school at Le Manoir Aux Quat’ Saisons, in Great Milton, and holds cookery workshops at Norwich City Football Club with Delia Smith, said: “It’s basically about food awareness, but I also want to show them all how much fun food and cooking can be.”
