COULD I apologise to Oxford’s hard-pressed car drivers, of which I am one, for my comment at the Green Travel Awards (Oxford Mail, January 29).
What I meant to say was that we discourage cars from coming into the city wherever possible.
Yes, we want everyone to use their cars less. But we also want to reduce congestion. Irony doesn’t work well in print and cannot capture the twinkle in my eye when I talked about making if difficult for cars to get around Oxford.
Well done to cyclist Ianto Cannon, Oxford Brookes University, Oxcar, Cyclox and Amey for showing how we can all reduce our carbon footprint.
Their prizes from Oxford Bus and Stagecoach are well deserved.
