AN OXFORD paedophile has been jailed for five years after “repeatedly targeting” a vulnerable teenage girl over a three-year period.
Paul Saunders, of Furlong Close, Blackbird Leys, was sentenced at Oxford Crown Court for charges of engaging in sexual activity with a child, making indecent images of a child and two counts of sexual assault.
He admitted the offences, which took place between 2006 and 2009 when his victim was aged between 15 and 17.
Sam Mainds, prosecuting, told the court 47-year-old Saunders’s offending was uncovered after he was jailed for eight weeks for benefit fraud in May last year.
His partner discovered a number of photographs of the victim on his mobile phone.
Judge Julian Hall jailed Saunders for five years and ordered him to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.
