A LIST of people convicted of offences at magistrates' courts around the county recently:
Joseph Knox, 32, of Speedwell Street, Oxford, admitted shoplifting two pairs of scissors costing £19.20 from Boots in Oxford on January 1. Fined £60 and a £15 victims’ surcharge.
Daniel Hornsey, 19, of Wytham Street, Oxford, admitted obstructing a Pc in the execution of his duty in Oxford on October 16. Fined £100, costs of £40 and a £15 victims’ surcharge.
Radoslaw Burdanowski, 27, of Fox Crescent, Oxford, convicted of using violence to secure entry to premises and obstructing a Pc in the execution of her duty in Botley on April 5. Given a 12-month community order with 60 hours’ unpaid work and told to pay £200 costs.
Peter Tracey, 37, of Kenhelm Court, Enstone, convicted of using a handheld mobile phone or device while driving in Burford Road, Carterton, on April 24. Fined £100, £150 costs and a £15 victims’ surcharge. Given three penalty points and banned from driving for six months.
Suhail Nazir, 44, of Falcon Close, Oxford, admitted theft of wood and sand from Osborne Homes on July 23. Fined £100, costs of £100 and a £15 victims’ surcharge.
Alam Riaz, 29, of Ashhurst Way, Oxford, admitted drink driving in Westgate car park in Oxford on January 1, namely having 61 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35mg. Also admitted driving without insurance at the same time. Fined £100, costs of £40 and a £15 victims’ surcharge. Also banned from driving for 17 months, reducible by four months on completion of a course.
Mohammed Afzal, 44, of Iffley Road, Oxford, convicted of using a handheld phone or device while driving in Speedwell Street, Oxford, on July 1. Fined £120, costs of £250 and a £15 victims’ surcharge. Also given three penalty points.
Timothy Stern, 27, of Pheasant Walk, Oxford, admitted failing to comply with the requirements of a community order. Jailed for six months after being re-sentenced for four original offences.
Stuart Gallacher, 44, of London Road, Bicester, admitted using threatening words or behaviour in Oxford on October 6 and convicted of criminal damage to a police van on October 7.Given a six-month conditional discharge and told to pay £200 costs.
Elizabeth Edwards, 32, of Fir Tree Court, Oxford, admitted failing to comply with the requirements of a community order. Told to pay costs of £20 and given four days’ ‘Education to Employment’ added to the order.
Thomas Kimber, 20, of Elms Parade, Oxford, admitted possession of one wrap of Class A cocaine and assault by beating on November 29 in Oxford. Fined £350, compensation of £250, costs of £85 and told to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge.
Dean Woodley, 27, of Herschel Crescent, Oxford, admitted drink driving in Asquith Road, Oxford, on January 3, namely having 105 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35mg. Given 60 hours’ unpaid work and told to pay £85 costs. Banned from driving for two years, reducible by six months on completion of a course.
Sean Langdon, 43, admitted racially aggravated intentional harassment (words) and possession of Class B cannabis on December 13 in Witney. Given a 12-month community order with 160 hours’ unpaid work and told to pay £85 costs. Langdon gave the court an address of Tooleys Boatyard, Banbury, but the court has subsequently advised us that is incorrect and he cannot be contacted there.
David Seager, 35, of Home Close, Carterton, admitted theft of an electrical cable worth £5; receiving stolen goods, namely electrical cable and copper cylinders worth £285; two counts of driving without a licence and two counts of driving without insurance, and two counts of theft of a Poppy Appeal collection box, in Carterton between October 13 and 29. Given a 12-week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months. Ordered to pay £147.50 compensation, banned from driving or obtaining a licence for six months and given eight penalty points. Also given an 18-month supervision order with a drug-rehabilitation requirement for six months and a restorative-justice programme.
Harriet Richards, 50, of Heyford Road, Steeple Aston, admitted fraudulently using a vehicle/trade licence or registration mark/ document, namely a tax disc; driving without a licence and driving without insurance on July 28 in Steeple Aston. Fined £170, costs of £35 and a £15 victims’ surcharge, and banned from driving or obtaining a licence for nine months.
Carlston Steele, 20, of no fixed address, admitted stealing a chocolate bar costing £1.65 from Cafe Express at Banbury Railway Station on December 18; two counts of using threatening, abusive or insulting words in Banbury on October 27 and November 9, and failing to surrender to court bail in Banbury on December 14. Jailed for a total of 18 weeks due to persistent threats with a weapon on public transport.
Amanda Stevens, 28, of Reedmace Road, Bicester, admitted possessing 245 grammes of Class B cannabis in Bicester of March 26. Given a one-month electronically monitored curfew.
