THREE men received gold watches in 1968 to mark their long service with the Chipping Norton and District Co-operative Society. Roland Hobbs (30 years), Alfred Grantham (21) and Reginald Cox (50) are seen with their new timepieces in the picture.
Chipping Norton History Society leased spare rooms at the Baptist Church, in New Street, in 1985, with the aim of creating a town museum. One of the main features was to be the Tom Pitt collection of agricultural implements. Mr Pitt, a retired farmer, is seen showing some of the collection to Baptist minister, the Rev Gerald Forse, left.
Borough councillors were concerned in 1963 at the amount of traffic pouring through the town. They held an on-the-spot meeting with police and council officials to assess the situation.
