Police today appealed for witnesses after a man was assaulted while walking along a street in Banbury.
The 26-year-old victim was walking along West Street at about 4.35pm last Tuesday, when a car pulled up alongside him and a passenger got out of a vehicle and started abusing the man.
The driver of the vehicle then got out of the car and the two men chased the victim, before assaulting him and knocking him unconscious.
The man was found by an unknown passer-by, who called an ambulance that took the man to hospital.
The two attackers were black, driving a silver-coloured Ford.
PC Nathan Davis said: “I would ask anyone who may have seen this assault to come forward and speak to us.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who may have seen this car in the area at the time of the assault and may have seen where the vehicle went.”
Anyone with information can contact PC Davis via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police Enquiry Line on 0845 8 505 505, or alternatively contact the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
