Excellent entertainment from the boys after such a long enforced break. Both teams started well and the game flowed from end to end, with both keepers relieved to see the ball rebound off the post. Towards the end of the first half Didcot edged ahead as they flooded the penalty area and repeated attempts on goal resulted in Bradley Swan stabbing the ball home.
Hinksey pressed forward in the second half searching for an equaliser, but Didcot grabbed a second as Ben Payne broke quickly from the half way line. Hinksey replied with a fine finish by Justin Le Corre and, for a moment, it looked as though the match could go either way. However, Didcot picked themselves up and good passing choices in the midfield gave Matthew Matley two opportunities, which he buried emphatically. A much sought after win for Didcot, but a scoreline that did not fully reflect Hinksey’s input to a fine game.
