Police today appealed for witnesses to a robbery at McColls newsagents in Millbrook Square, Grove, last night.
At about 9.30pm, a man went into the shop, put a bag on the counter and demanded that the shopworker, a 55-year-old man, fill it up with money.
The man was wearing a full-face balaclava and left with about £200 cash.
Det Insp Kev Elkins said: “This is a very serious offence, a member of staff was threatened, and although they were not injured, they were left shaken.
“It is thought that the two people came into the shop and disturbed the offender.
“I urge anyone who witnessed the robbery or saw anything suspicious around the area to contact me.”
Anyone with information which could help police should contact Det Insp Elkins at Abingdon police station via 0845 8 505 505, or if you don’t want to talk to the police or give your name, call the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
