HE may not be able to enjoy haggis, neeps and tatties, but this figure will be celebrating Burns Night in the traditional dress.
Members of Exeter College, which owns the £250,000 Antony Gormley Iron Man, high above Broad Street, in Oxford, kitted him out in a Scottish kilt and ginger wig to mark tonight’s celebrations of the anniversary of the birth of Scotland’s national poet in 1759.
Ian Knight, major piper of the Oxford Caledonian Pipes and Drums, said: “I’m not sure Robert Burns would be proud, but it’s nice to see him celebrated.”
