A wallet was stolen in a distraction burglary in Wallingford yesterday.
Between 11.30am and 12.15pm, a man went to a property in Thames Street selling goods. The man then asked the occupants of a property for a glass of water.
They went to get him a glass of water and shortly after he left, noticed that a wallet had been stolen.
Det Insp Kev Elkins said: “I would appeal to anyone who has information that could help with the investigation to contact me.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to remind residents to be aware of their home security. If someone comes to your front door and asks you to go to the back garden, or get something from inside the house, please make sure that the front door is locked.”
Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to contact Didcot CID via 0845 8 505 505, or if you don’t want to talk to the police or give your name, call the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
