Police today appealed for witnesses after a series of burglaries in West Oxfordshire, where thieves targeted four nursing homes and a hotel.
All of the burglaries happened some time overnight between Monday and Tuesday.
The first raid was at Beech Court Nursing Home in Newland Street, Eynsham, where thieves forced their way into the home, but nothing was stolen in the break-in.
The second break-in was at the Spencer Court Residential Home in Union Street, Woodstock. Thieves forced their way into the premises and stole cash and jewellery.
The Duke of Marlborough pub, in Woodstock, was also broken into the same evening, with cash and a laptop being stolen.
Thieves also forced their way into a nursing home in Burford and stole cash.
The last nursing home break-in was at Madley Park House in Madley Way, Witney, where nothing was stolen.
Det Con Grahame Lea said: “We believe that these break-ins are connected and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward and speak to us as soon as possible.
“If you saw anyone near these locations acting suspiciously, or any suspicious vehicles, then we want to hear from you.”
Anyone with information should contact Det Con Lea via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police Enquiry Line on 0845 8 505 505, or alternatively contact the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
