SAMANTHA Millard’s story is heart-wrenching. A young woman with everything going for her, the teenager was struck down by an allergic reaction to the swine flu drug Tamiflu.
She has been left with a string of health problems and an enormous mountain to climb.
She weighs just six-and-a-half stone and it is doubtful whether she will ever fully regain her eyesight.
Her scalp, mouth, lungs and throat were covered in blisters and she remains in considerable pain.
To add insult to injury, Samantha has been told she had never even contracted swine flu – a horrible irony to bear.
We wish Samantha the quickest and fullest of recoveries.
Her family is considering a legal battle for compensation – an understandable reaction to their ordeal.
Legal action may bring compensation, but it cannot turn the clock back for Samantha.
It is the future now that counts.
We wish her well in her fight for recovery.
