IMAGINE going to work one day and being shot by a careless colleague.
That is what happened to Keith Tilbury.
The 999 call handler, shot in the chest during a firearms awareness course, has received an estimated £300,000 compensation from Thames Valley Police.
Considering the ordeal he has been through, the payout seems fair.
He suffered major injuries and may require future treatment.
Thames Valley Police was quite rightly hauled over the coals. We hope adequate measures have been put in place to prevent any repeat.
