Sir – The complaint about the lack of road capacity in Witney (Report, January 14) with 3,000 proposed new homes and Carterton (1,500 new homes) emphasises the need for improved transport facilities.
It is time to shake the dust off the Mott MacDonald Report on transport in the Carterton-Witney-Eynsham-Oxford corridor.
Modern tram-trains running along the trackbed of the former rail line could relieve road congestion in the area.
This could be backed up by local bus connections to adjoining new housing sites, such as at north Witney.
