I BELIEVE the members of the Witney Spartan Rangers Football Club and Golf Society deserve better recognition and praise for the £5,000 donation to Guide Dogs than was mentioned in your coverage of December 30.
This was the culmination of four years of fundraising to participate in Guide Dogs’ Name a Puppy programme, resulting in their puppy, named Ranger, being placed with a puppy walker in Oxford.
The £5,000 covers his first year of development within a family to prepare him for life with his eventual owner before entry into his guiding training and during that year they will be able to watch his progress with visits with his puppy walker.
Meeting him at the presentation evening was the highlight of their endeavours and after four years they are very proud of their achievement, as are Guide Dogs. KATH MULLIGAN, Chairwoman, Oxford and District Branch, Guide Dogs
