A 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a series of burglaries in the East Oxford area.
The arrest follows a series of nine burglaries in Stanley Road, Regent Street, Aston Street, Percy Street, Fairacres Road and four in Iffley Road, where entry was gained to the property through insecure doors or by slipping the Yale lock.
Items stolen in the break-ins included electronic equipment, such as laptops and games consoles, and jewellery.
The man has been bailed to return to St Aldates police station on February 2.
PC Mike Roddy said: “We would urge people to ensure their doors are locked and secure at all times and that where possible people use deadlocks.
“By making your homes as secure as possible, it makes it harder for thieves and reduces the risk of becoming a victim of crime.”
