Police believe the driver of a vehicle recovery van could hold information about a car crash which killed a 32-year-old English teacher.
Ellie Bongers, from North Oxford, died at Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital on Christmas Eve, four days after the accident on Sunday, December 20, in Tackley.
The teacher at Lord William’s School, Thame and former acting head of English had been a passenger in a silver Ford KA which collided with a silver Renault Clio on the A4260 at about 4.20pm.
Her 15-month-old son Joseph, also in the Ford KA, was taken to the same hospital and remains in a critical condition.
The driver of the Renault Clio, a 71-year-old woman, was taken to the Horton General Hospital with serious injuries and has since been discharged.
Last night police issued a renewed appeal for information about the collision.
The boy’s father was also in the car at the time of the crash and was taken to hospital but later released.
Pc Dave Mitchell said: “It has been nearly a month since the collision but we are still appealing for witnesses to come forward.
“We are especially keen to trace the driver of an AA recovery van or similar vehicle that was travelling north on the A4260 at the time of the collision with its orange lights illuminated.”
Anyone with any information should call Pc Mitchell on 0845 850 5505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
