MANY rivers in Oxfordshire were on flood watch tonight as melting snow and rain caused rivers to rise.
The River Thames through Abingdon was the latest stretch to be put on flood watch by the Environment Agency this afternoon.
Since yesterday, people living or working near the river in Oxford and surrounding villages have been urged to remain vigilant.
The rivers affected are the Thames, Cherwell, Lee, Ock, Thame, Evenlode, Glyme and Windrush.
Brooks in Chalgrove, Letcombe and Bloxham were also placed on flood watch.
Tonight the Met Office warned heavy snow could return to the county on Wednesday.
You can sign up for free flood alerts if you live in an area at risk. These can be sent to landline phones and mobile phones, or by text message, email or fax.
