A list of people convicted of offences at magistrates' courts in Oxfordshire recently.
Simon White, 30, of Oliver Road, Oxford, admitted shoplifting a women’s North Face jacket valued at £199.99 from Blacks Outdoor Store in Oxford on October 22. Jailed for eight weeks.
Michelle Roche, 28, of Iffley Road, Oxford, admitted theft of a laptop valued at £800 and theft of a handbag and contents worth £90 on November 9, and theft of a handbag and contents worth £53 on December 10, all in Oxford. Jailed for a total of 17 weeks.
Calvin Holmes, 25, of Carter Close, Oxford, admitted affray on January 1 in Oxford. Jailed for 12 weeks because the offence involved a knife in a family home with women and children present.
Walter Munro, 57, of Glanrafon Bach, Llanfechell, Gwynedd, admitted burglary of Bar Aroma in Cowley Road, Oxford, on December 30, stealing £28.27 in cash. Jailed for eight weeks after activation of a suspended sentence.
Dayle Eugene, 21, of Owens Way, Oxford, admitted assault by beating in Oxford on October 11. Fined £65 and made to pay compensation of £35, costs of £85 and a £15 victims’ surcharge.
Hannah Kirkhouse, 22, of Faulder Avenue, Carterton, admitted drink driving on December 12 in Botley Road, Oxford. Namely having 70 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35mg. Fined £85, costs of £85 and made to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge. Also banned from driving for 18 months, reducible by four months on completion of a course.
Kristyan Skelsey, 29, of Cowley Road, Oxford, convicted of drunk and disorderly behaviour in Cowley Road, Oxford, on May 23. Told to pay costs of £60 and a £15 victims’ surcharge.
Sean Herman, 22, of Ilsley Road, Oxford, admitted possessing cannabis, a Class B drug, in Oxford on November 10 and failing to surrender to court bail at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on December 22. Fined £50 with a £15 victims’ surcharge.
Leslie Belcher, 49, of Magdalen Road, Oxford, admitted using threatening words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress on December 10 in Oxford. Fined £50.
Reuben Whitehouse, 26, of Nowell Road, Oxford, admitted shoplifting a Lynx Bullet bodyspray valued at 97p from Boots in Oxford. Fined £50.
Oscar Daniel, 24, of Lerwick Croft, Bicester, admitted drink driving in Beaumont Street, Oxford, on December 24. Namely having 60 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35mg. Fined £400, costs of £85 and a £15 victims’ surcharge. Banned from driving for 12 months, reducible by three months on completion of a course.
Luke Alford, 20, of Gainsborough Green, Abingdon, admitted being drunk and disorderly in Midget Close, Abingdon, on December 11, and failing to answer court bail at Didcot Magistrates’ Court on December 30. Given a six-month conditional discharge, fined £50 and told to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge.
Rachel Kimber, 39, of Ilsley Road, Oxford, admitted shoplifting alcohol and food worth £92.42 from Waitrose in Oxford on December 7, and assault by beating on the same day in Oxford. Given a four-week prison sentence suspended for a year and made to pay £100 compensation.
Jamie Walker, 20, of Hollow Way, Oxford, admitted theft by an employee of £1,540 at W H Smith in the Churchill Hospital, Headington, between November 12 and December 7. Given 100 hours’ unpaid work.
Karl McCarthy, 31, of no fixed address, admitted possessing a machete in Cromwell Street, Oxford, on October 2. Jailed for six months due to the dangerousness of the weapon and previous conviction for wounding.
Chloe Edmonds, 18, of Iffley Road, Oxford, admitted begging in a public place, namely Magdalen Street, Oxford, on December 11. Given a six-month conditional discharge.
Michael Fallon, 28, of Sandy Lane, Oxford, admitted cultivating 20 cannabis plants, a Class B drug, between October 1 and December 24 in Oxford. Fined £300, costs of £80 and a victims’ surcharge of £15.
Christopher Strong, 51, of Dundas Close, Abingdon, convicted of driving without insurance, driving without due care and attention, failing to stop after a road accident and failing to report a road accident on the A415 Marcham/Tesco roundabout. Fined £100, told to pay £300 compensation and a £15 victims’ surcharge.
